We are in a new month and that means new skills/strengths!
November's movement of the month is the snatch. We will be working on overhead strength, technique work, and building in that squat snatch position. We are almost two weeks deep into working on improving our snatch and we have seen some great success from our members.
Here are some tips to focus on over the month of November or whenever you may be working on the squat snatch:
- get in a good starting position by creating tension on the bar and activate your lats.
- stay over the bar in your snatch pull, while keeping the bar close.
- focus on reaching full extension at the end of that third pull.
- direct elbows up and slightly back.
Make sure you get in the strength work this month to help improve how you move when lifting and to increase that snatch weight.
